Natural and organic mists are not only better for the environment, they are also gentler on your skin and generally contain more highly concentrated nutrients and antioxidants. The scents they contain, if any, are from natural essential oils, which rarely cause allergic reactions, unlike manufactured fragrances.

Being gentler on the skin does not mean less effective, however. Refreshers and mists contain amazing, hydrating ingredients that allow you to re-moisturize on the go, even over makeup. Most people lack the time for a full moisturizing routine mid-day, and often that is not even recommended, so a hydrating mist can fill in the gaps.

In addition to hydration, mists can also be rejuvenating and refreshing. This is great if you feel waning energy levels during the day or have been traveling for long hours. Refreshers also soothe and cool the skin, for example in the summertime, or after being outdoors or working out. Others are even safe to keep refrigerated, so you can use them to feel extra cool and refreshed on a hot day.

Choosing a refreshing mist based on your skin type and needs is similar to how you would choose a traditional moisturizing cream. Many daytime formulas contain SPF, which does double duty in keeping your skin protected from the sun's rays. Nighttime formulas may be a little heavier for a more intensive boost while you sleep. Other formulas may contain plumping ingredients to specifically help target fine lines and wrinkles. It all depends on your skin's needs!
